Is your home on the market?
If your home is currently listed with a real estate agent and you really want to sell your home I have a couple of words of advice when the home is being shown. GO AWAY! Let the agents do their job, they are there to show your house. They don't need a hand held tour of your home, we can find our way around. The reason I say this is because it usually makes buyers uncomfortable to actually get a good look at the home, they are afraid to open or look in closets, comment on colours or flooring, etc. and you probably wont get accurate feedback. If you can't leave the home at least step outside while it is being shown. Don't worry, if the buyer is interested and their are questions the agent can't answer, it will get to you.
Also extremely important! The home must be clean. Some buyers can look past some dirt on the floor, others can be turned off immediately. If you are expecting a showing try not to cook strong smelling foods if at all possible. Not asking to turn your lives upside down but do your best to keep the home as fresh as possible.
